TiredBuddy — Privacy Policy

The short version

TiredBuddy collects nothing. No account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking of any kind. The app makes no network connections whatsoever, so there is no server for your data to be sent to. Everything it knows stays in its own storage on your Mac.

What stays on your Mac

Kept in the app's private container, shared only with its own desktop widget, and never transmitted anywhere:

• Your chosen icon set and your custom faces (emoji or images).
• Your tiredness thresholds, in days.
• Any photo you pick for a face, saved as a small square image.
• Local counters shown in the About tab: longest uptime observed, restarts seen, and the date you first ran the app.
• Whether the app starts at login and whether the menu-bar icon is shown.

Removing the app, or its container, removes all of it. There is no copy anywhere else.

Your photos

A photo is read only after you pick it yourself — through the system file dialog, by dragging it onto the app, or by pasting it. The app has no permission to browse your photo library or your disk on its own.

Background removal and the tiredness shading run entirely on your Mac, using Apple's Vision and Core Image frameworks built into macOS. No photo, and no part of a photo, is ever uploaded, shared or sent to any service — mine or anyone else's. No AI service is involved, and no internet connection is used or required.

Uptime information

The app reads how long your Mac has been running since its last restart, which is what the face is based on. It is read locally from macOS and used only to draw the face and the local counters above.

If you email me

“Report a problem” opens your own email app with a message pre-filled with the app version and your macOS version. Nothing is sent until you send it. If you write to me I receive your address and your message, and use them only to answer you. No mailing list.

Children

The app suits all ages and collects no data from anyone, children included.

Your rights

Because no personal data ever reaches me, there is nothing for me to access, export, correct or delete on your behalf. The data on your Mac is under your control at all times. Questions: app@cosenzafrancesco.it.

Changes

If a future version changes what the app does with data, this page is updated and the date at the top changes.
