Reticle — Privacy Policy

The short version

Reticle collects nothing and stores nothing. No account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking. It makes no network connections at all, and it writes no settings or files to your disk.

The Accessibility permission

Reticle asks for Accessibility because that is the only way macOS lets an app find out where another app's window is on screen. It uses it for exactly one thing: to locate the Arrange Displays panel in System Settings and read its position and size, so the alignment guides land in the right place.

It does not read the text of your windows, your keystrokes or your clipboard, and it does not read the contents of any other app. It takes no screenshots and does not record your screen. What it reads is neither stored nor transmitted: the window's frame positions the guides and is then forgotten.

You can revoke the permission at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility. Reticle simply stops drawing guides.

What is not there

• No network requests of any kind. The GitHub and Buy Me a Coffee links in the About panel open in your browser only if you click them.
• No preferences file, no database, no logs, no cache.
• No crash or usage reporting.

If you email me

If you write to me for support I receive your address and your message, and use them only to answer you. No mailing list.

Your rights

Because no personal data ever reaches me, there is nothing for me to access, export, correct or delete on your behalf. Questions: app@cosenzafrancesco.it.

Changes

If a future version changes what the app does with data, this page is updated and the date at the top changes.
